This is all your fault Josh Booty. There we were, minding our own business, happy to go through this mildly amusing adventure of the extended quarter life. We had no care or want to resurrect the dead. We were content with our run and were enjoying not having the self-inflicted pressure to write and be (somewhat) entertaining on a semi-daily basis. It was a nice break. Then you had to go and get arrested, and tazed, and fall down (or beaten down…semantics) during a DUI arrest in California.

Read about it here, here, here…oh, and here
In the hours and subsequent days after the story broke, we were inundated* with calls for a return by loyal friends and readers of the now defunct LittleBlog (please, by all means, go over and get a gander if you’ve never been, hilarity will surely ensue). This was a story to be handled by the delicate hands of a professional, they said. Only you can tell the true story of this once great gridiron hero, they proclaimed. You are the only one who knows where to find glamour shots of his brother Abram, they explained (We actually don’t know where they are. Seriously, someone find them. The world should not be denied photos of LSU’s last great white wide receiving hope wearing see through shirts). Bring back the blog, they demanded. And here we are…sort of.
As you can see, its a whole new name…Friends of the Program, a nod to the Bobby Lowders, John Tysons, and T. Boones of the college sports landscape while recognizing the time-honored tradition of southern sports, cheating to win. Its a whole new look…thanks to WordPress and a complete lack of a desire for clutter (its that whole OCD thing…you know, the one that will force me to go wash my hands repeatedly after typing this). Its a whole new approach…brought to you, mainly, by your hosts, the handsome and witty duo of Bunky Perkins and Mike Medallion, two refined southerners well versed in SEC sporting lore, 80’s pro wrestling, and the complete Saved by the Bell episodic catalogue. And a whole new slant…sticking mainly with southern sports and pop culture…but, as our catchy tag line suggests, from under the table, as it were.
So stop by periodically, look around the site, share the link with your friends (Friends of the Program), or drop us an email and let us know what you think. Feel free to comment on posts as well. We think the commentor set up is pretty self explanatory. All that said, enjoy the site in all its splendor, we anticipate it’ll only be downhill from this point forward. We didn’t want to do this, but our hand has been forced . We blame this guy…
