The Wynn to Sir Charles: Pay Up Now

May 15th, 2008 by Michael Medallion · No Comments

The Wynn Las Vegas doesn’t operate a charity, even for sports celebrities. So, it should have come as no surprise to Charles Barkley that he was sued by The Wynn on Wednesday for $400,000 for unpaid gambling markers the casino extended to his Roundness last year. TMZ has a copy of the complaint. The District Attorney is also getting involved:

The casino also persuaded the Clark County district attorney’s bad check unit to open a criminal investigation. The unit has authority under state law to investigate gambling debts in the same manner as bad checks.

District Attorney David Roger said Barkley will be notified of the investigation and given an opportunity to make restitution to Wynn Las Vegas to avoid being charged with a felony.

“We prosecute cases like this every day,” Roger said. “Mr. Barkley will be treated the same as everybody else.”

Well Chucky, look on the bright side, at least you didn’t get your hand smashed with a hammer like they did in the old days. Please don’t let this spoil your golf game today at the Regions Charity Classic Pro-Am. Based on your luck at gambling and below average golfing ability, we would suggest not taking any bets on the course today.
