Fat Phil Served at Media Days

July 24th, 2008 by Michael Medallion · No Comments

Phil Fulmer was (reportedly) served with a subpoena this morning at the SEC Media Days in Birmingham in connection with libel and defamation suit against the NCAA brought by disassociated University of Alabama booster Wendell Smith. The subpoena was to secure his appearance at a deposition in Birmingham on September 25, two days before Tennessee plays at Auburn.

We can only assume the subpoena was given to him inside a box of delicious Krispy Kremes.

UPDATE: Smith’s lawyer,  Brandon Blankenship, wants Phil to submit to Alabama justice, whatever that means:

“Coach Fulmer should submit to Alabama justice just like anyone else should,” attorney Brandon Blankenship.

In the scheduled deposition, Blankenship said Smith and his legal team “want to address what role (Fulmer) played in cooperating – or I believe the legal term is conspiring – with the NCAA” to damage Wendell Smith’s reputation.

It’s all a conspiracy…the UFO’s at Roswell, the Kennedy Assassination, and the NCAA’s attack on THE University of Alabama.

Litigatin’ update: Fulmer is denying that he was served.  Obviously he, unlike his offense sometimes, was coached up pretty well prior, as by denying he was served he leaves the option to later argue improper service of the subpeona.  Lawyerin’ son!
