Yet another classic and dramatic game between Auburn and LSU on Saturday in Auburn with the Bengal Tigers winning 26-21. Here’s a rundown of my weekend on the Plains…
Friday:
Most SEC teams have a loyal fan base that will travel to every road game. LSU fans take this to a whole new level. Do they have tickets?…nah, do they have a place to stay?…nah. The first task upon arriving in Auburn, finding a bar and taking it over. After running into a friend from Baton Rouge at Sky Bar (shown above), I asked him where he was staying, his response “We’ve haven’t gotten that far yet.” Shocker.
Well, the Sky Bar patrons had some interesting clothing choices…the best, some guy sporting a C.E. Byrd hat (C.E., What, What…), the worst…some guy wearing a hand-made shirt. Hmmmm, maybe that’s why I can’t pick up girls at the bar, I don’t make and wear my own shirts. I also ran into Kenny Irons at the bar. No surprise he was in Auburn, as I assume he’s got plenty of time on his hands now. I only got to talk to him briefly because he was too busy buying drinks for white girls at the bar. Forget hand-made shirts, that’s why I can’t pick up girls at the bar, I didn’t play in the NFL. Damn, I suck.
Saturday:
I was shocked to see that so many people showed up for Gamday on Saturday morning even though Erin Andrews wasn’t there. At least, that’s why I did. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Yet, the fans still showed up to see Fowler, Corso, and Herbstreit with their signs and other things…here’s a few:
I thought that LSU fans couldn’t spell, but apparently neither can Auburn fans…Bengels? Plenty of corndogs in the crowd too. We assume that’s Demetrius Byrd’s cell phone number. No, I haven’t called to congratulate him yet. And all you Bama fans, if you want to know who had skelton of the Bear hanging from the pole, here’s the guy you want to talk to:
At some point later today, we’re hoping have some better photos from Gameday from our undercover photojournalist who had special access to the Gameday set. So look out for those.
While it’s not the Grove in Oxford, quite a number of the Auburn-faithful tailgate in the amphitheater….
At Auburn, guys expect a lot of their women when it comes to tailgating…
Though if you don’t like staying in one spot to tailgate, you have the option of riding around campus the whole afternoon…
Well, after all the tailgating, there was a game to attend. As I said before, it was a classic. Which is the norm when it comes to this game. Here’s some highlights:
And next weekend, I’ll be back on the Plains to see a matchup between two longtime SEC coaches that are likely little frustrated with their new offensive coordinators. Phil Fulmer seemed particularly upset on his Sunday TV show, and I don’t think it was because Bob Kesling is the co-host.

Great work as usual, Bunkie.
Is it normal for chicks in the south to carry grills on their shoulder?

All the credit goes to Mr. Medallion on this one. And yes, it is somewhat typical for Auburn women to disply “feats of strength” in order to attract their male counterparts.
