The Program's Picks

October 23rd, 2008 by Michael Medallion · 2 Comments

Degenerate gamblers by nature and birthright, your humble blogging hosts Bunkie Perkins and Michael Medallion, and other special guests, try to give you some guidance as you wager your plasma donation earnings on this week’s games.

Overall Standings

Bunkie Perkins: 18-15-2

Mike Medallion:18-15-2

LSU -2.5 v. Georgia

BP:  LSU.  Its at home.  Its at night midday (which is Cajun for “We’ll be drunk by then”).  Louisiana has drive through Daquiri stores so you know the coonass faithful will be good and insulated come game time.  LSU’s defenive line looked like the unit they were supposed to be in the second half of the South Carolina game and Georgia’s one glaring issue is their pass protection.  Los Tigres by a field goal.

MM:  UGA. Because Trev Alberts’ guess is as good as mine:

Texas -12.5 v. Ok State

BP:  OK State.  Texas mauled Mizzou last week therefore the spread is probably a little generous…much like Colt McCoy’s girlfriend (heyo!).   ESPN has been fawning over the Horns all week, which means they’ll probably lay a burnt orange egg on the field Saturday.  They pull it out at home but by less than the points.

MM:  Texas. Because OSU fans are retarded, especially the young ones:

Ole Miss -3.5 @ Arkansas

BP:  Ole Miss.  Ill have much more on this game very shortly, but lets just put it this way, Gregg Doyell has the right idea.

MM: Arkansas. Because I couldn’t pick against Good in the renewed rivalry of Good vs. Evil:

Ohio State +2 v. Penn State

BP:  Ohio State.  Believe me, theres nothing I’d like more than Penn State to push Ohio State out of the BCS picture for good, but I don’t think it happens at home.  So we’ll be relegated to the eventual Ohio State is back in the hunt talk for the rest of the year.  I can’t wait.

MM:  Penn State. Because the weird guy in the dorm says so.

Duke +9.5 @ Vandy

BP:  Vandy.  Too many smart kids from New Jersey in one place for my liking.  David Cutcliffe used to depend on Vandy for one of his 3 annual SEC wins when he was at Ole Miss, this time the Dores wont be near as accommodating.

MM:  Vandy. Because you have to declare a winner even in a battle between nerds:

The tear soaked pillows of their fathers makes the nerd war hard to watch.
