Gary Crowton's Play Calling Has the Power of Suggestion

October 14th, 2009 by · 3 Comments

Sadly, that seems to be all that LSU’s offensive coordinator has to power to do.  LSU fans displeasure with the anemic Tiger offense has boiled over to the point that recreations of the play calling card must be produced to adequately voice their frustration.  No amount of runs to the short side of the field and Russell Shepard run/pass option plays will heal the offensively inept wound on the Corndog faithful. Clearly, the Mormon Bubble-screeening wizard has lost favor on the bayou. [HT: Chunks]

Yup, looks like the same Gary Crowton. His obsession with the option drove me nuts, especially because at BYU they don’t recruit option quarterbacks. Has no sense of fitting his system to the talent he has.

[...] Re: In Good Graces or On Thin Ice? The Fate of Crowton I am an avid Gary Crowton Hater. I love reading articles bashing him. You can see now as we are losing some more in state talent (Reed) and now commitments (Davis) the damage Gary is doing to LSU. We still have the talent to be good the next 2-3 years, but surely we get rid of him after the bowl game. Here are a few articles hating on Crowton. I even found some good facebook groups.
