The Blind Side Trailer, Now With Tommy Tuberville

November 4th, 2009 by The Juice · No Comments

It is a bit surreal to see Tommy Tuberville introduce himself to Sandra Bullock as Auburn’s head football coach, but Warner Bros. marketing approach is clearly an attempt to pull College Football fans in to see a film that appears to have adapted a unique football study into a feel good chick-flick.

To achieve their marketing goals they decided to incorporate all major SEC coaches with roles in the film into several remixed TV spots (3 of said coaches being gone from the SEC under uncomfortable circumstances and two of them at a rival school to the one they are representing in the movie). Our main question so far would be why are they holding Coach O back in all the previews? We know he is a big part of the story. Are they waiting to drop his performance on unsuspecting critics closer to Oscar Season?

Also we can’t get over the “I found him extremely handsome” line. Are they really referencing Nick Saban? And is Saban (in his platform shoes so he fits in frame) really so handsome that Tim McGraw is awkwardly into him as well?

I guess you can judge yourself on November 20th.

“one of them at a rival school to the one he is representing in the movie”

Two, actually…another tv spot includes Houston Nutt as Arkansas’ coach.

I think The Orgeron was just too explicit/PG-13 for prime time. Him ripping his shirt off would earn an FCC fine for sure.

Ahh thanks for the heads up. Do you think Coach O will be subtitled in the final cut? Or even better, dubbed over by Matthew Mcconaughey?
