Im Not Going Anywhere…Brotha!

“I am but a mere pawn, my dear friends, in this crazy game of life.  You have to believe me here!”

A day after it was reported that Houston Nutt was interested in the vacant Kansas head coaching position, now comes word that there is in fact an interview between the two sides pending.  Ole Miss, consider this your first demand note written with glued on magazine letters in the annual Jimmy Sexton kidnap and ransom ploy that has netted his clients millions over the years.  It seems Nutt is Sexton’s favorite muse, as he often likes to paint a picture that his client is on the verge of exit if his monetary demands are not met.  This is a ploy that has worked as early as last year when Auburn was rumored to be interested in the services of Nutt.  Ole Miss countered with a raise for they’re Cotton Bowl winning head coach.    Now Kansas…yeah Kansas, is interested.  And Ole Miss must once again decide if they are willing to call Sexton and Nutt’s bluff.

The balls on these guys…seriously…to threaten leaving if certain demands are not met after a disappointing 8-4 campaign that included a loss to an in-state rival to close the season after so much was made of the Rebels in the preseason…you know what….I dare Pete Boone to call their bluff.  I double dog dare him to go all Boston College/Jeff Jagodzinski on them.  What’s the worst that can happen?  Houston Nutt leaves your program.   Thats it.  Yeah, he’s done very good things for a program that was in dire need of some, and that alone is worthy of recognition and a raise along the way, but this annual gun-to-the-head-Ill-leave-you-if-I-dont-get-what-I-want-giggity-goo routine should not be something that should be entertained year in and year out.  And hopefully it won’t.

[Insert obligatory Arkansas fan "I told you so" here]

We went through this every year with Sexton and Tuberville. Tubs to TAMU, Tubs to Arkansas,etc.. It is truly beyond annoying.

If you want to employ a Sexton client, it is just part of life. It will make you appreciate actual College Football Season that much more as during the Season Sexton is too busy counting his money and hanging out in his “Get Paid Bitch!” War Room whilst coming up with his next batch of post season “Coach X to School Y” rumors to spread anything while games are actually being played.
