Louisiana Tech is set to hire Oklahoma Sooner Offensive Coordiator Kevin Wilson as its new head coach. A press conference is scheduled for 3 this afternoon in Ruston. Wilson comes to Tech after heading up the Sooner offense the past 3 seasons and brings with him one of the finer coaching mustaches this side of Carl Torbush and Dave Wannstedt.
It is good news for Louisiana Tech…but the best news in all of this is that now Stoops can bring Mike Leach back to Norman. Dread Pirate, Bob. Do it.
UPDATE: My sources, who clearly have nothing better to do with their time, now say Sonny Dykes, Offensive Coordinator at Arizona. It looked like Wilson was it this morning but who knows at this point. But just in case it is Dykes…

I would LOVE to see Kevin Wilson go ANYWHERE – but OU. He’s stuck in big 10 run run run and then run some more mentality. He’s running out the clock from the minute the games start. If he’s going to do dink and dunk passing at least get some skill at it – his laterals get picked off because he goes t o the well far too often – as well as using fantasic receiver broyles in the backfield and on runs. Broyles needs to be way out there 30 yards (if if they dont’ pass to him or pass at all) so that like Jordan Shipley – the defenses have to loosen up. Kevin is a loser – FIRE HIM and really do bring back Mike Leach – the smartest coach in college football. He used to put 3 receives left, 3 receivers right and Quentin Griffin taking shovel passes up the middle – or any of 6 receivers running different routes were out there – opening things up for Griffin as well.
Bob would do well to remember that Mike Leach planned his National Championship team.
SInce then Chuck Long and Mark Mangino are just old buddies of Stoops and very poor in quality – they’ve both been fired from head coaching positions.
Mike Leach’s teams slaughtered OU several times – and we need that kind of planning and fire to stoke the desire to win big in stoops and the team.

Since BOB STOOPS seems to be encased in concrete at OU – we can’t get rid of him too but should – because he is responsible for poor OC and sometimes poor DC coaches – it all comes back to the head coach – now wilson makes half a million dollars and for what!?
