It was an absolutely beautiful day. Warm Sun, beautiful women…and the air was just right for drinking. ($1 to Carl Taylor and James St. James). That about sums up Rodeo on Saturday in Auburn (summed it up last year too). More “redneck tailgate” than an actual rodeo, it’s just one of those things you have to see in person to really believe. (UPDATED)
I’ll save you all my tired commentary on the excessive beer drinking, girls in daisy dukes, the 2-hour traffic jam, the dirt, the dust, and the mud, and just present the FOTP Rodeo ’10 photo gallery…
Please send me (medallion@friendsoftheprogram.net) any photos from Rodeo that you have or can find on the interwebs or Facebook that might be worth adding. Also, there were rumors that a girl accidentally shot herself (not life threatening) at Rodeo after we left. If you’ve got any info, let me know.
UPDATE: Aubie rides the bull and a porta-potty run…
UPDATE # 2: With plenty of time to kill while waiting in traffic, why not take a dip in the Industrial Park fountain on College Street. [HT: The Hammer]

Yet some of you Aubs take offense to the term “cow college.” Sadly, this is the biggest spring event in Auburn.
When you, a member of the snarky media, attends, you give it legitimacy.
Embrace it Aubs–Auburn is the most whitebread redneck D-1 school in America

I go to bama and that was the biggest shit show I’ve been to in awhile. People start drinking for that thing at 8 a.m.

Man, I miss Alabama…
not really.

It’s moments such as this that makes me look up to the stars and thank a higher power, every night, that I didn’t go to Auburn.
Could nonsense like this, along with the KKK parties and trailer parks be the reason a large handful of AUtards despise ‘Bama so much? If Alabama had denied my acceptance, forcing me to endure four years in Lee County, I would spend every waking minute of my life doing exactly what they do: attempting to destroy UA and everything it stands for.
But what more do you expect from a town that resembles Mayberry and only has, what, three bars in the entire county?

@ Juicy J
People come from all over the South for this. There’s a ton of Bama fans there every year. I’m sorry you just don’t know fun.
War Damn.
