Ladies and gents, a Sam Elliot Mask reference…the Brian VanGorder era at Auburn is gonna be awesome
Actual legitimate stuff happened outside of New Orleans this week and some of you may deem such information important to the advancement of your favorite collegiate football program.

The line for mustache rides forms to the left. The architect of the only side of the Atlanta Falcons ball to actually put points on the board last weekend, Brian VanGorder, is headed down Interstate 85 to join Auburn head coach and fashion trend setter for black southern preachers everywhere, Gene Chizik’s staff. Terms of the deal have yet to be released but lets all hope that his mustache is signed to a long term extension with an option, at the school’s request, to grow out the handlebars on that baby in the 4th or 5th year.

If he was at Gator Bowl practice and no one reports it, does he make a sound? Chosen for his innovative offenses and keen hat fashion sense, Boise State’s Brent Pease will take over as Florida’s offensive coordinator at likely, half the price and size of his predecessor. Pease had been, reportedly, deciding between the Florida job and the now-vacant Alabama job and had even shown up at a few Florida bowl game practices, presumably in some sort of disguise, since no one in the Florida media reported it at the time.

No further injury occurred while making this announcement. Knile Davis, the Arkansas running back who sat out the entire 2011 season with a broken ankle announced that he will return to Fayetteville next season. No truth to rumors that he will be housed in a foam room until the home game against Alabama next season.

Wrecking Who? Texas A&M finally got around to making a defensive coordinator hire. Mark Snyder leaves the trappings of Tampa retirement communities to take over the Aggies D for Kevin Sumlin. One of his major job requirements was that he actually be physically present in the second half of games…an aspect of the job that was lost on the previous administration.

And Bo makes a Baker’s Dozen Bo Wallace, the East Mississippi Community College JUCO All-American (BRENT SCHAFFER!!!!) quarterback has decided to join the increasingly crowded depth chart at Ole Miss over a similar and notably less competitive environment at Mississippi State. Wallace had previously played under Hugh Freeze as a redshirt freshman at Arkansas State when Freeze was the OC there.
