The girl on the right is proof you don’t need a hat to look good at the Derby. Yes, I realize she’s not in the infield, but do you really care? Marissa Miller is also nice to look at (even if she isn’t in the infield).

No Infield Fun at the Preakness (2009 Edition)

What has the world come to? Apparently, this year’s Preakness wasn’t anything like last year, and not even like this year’s Kentucky Derby. All thanks to a new “No BYOB” policy. Talk about a slap in the face to the fans who practically introduced the world to drunken porta potty beer gauntlet runs (these videos really never get old). So, for a lot of people this year, it wasn’t time to get trashed, at least not in the infield. The only small consolation for the infield crowd was getting to see ZZ Top and other bands, a bikini contest, and some other infield festivities hosted by former WWE star and “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, and Baltimore native, Stacy Keibler.

If You Thought Ladies at the Kentucky Derby Wore Strange Hats…

Think again. As you can see, the ladies (and by ladies we mean dirty money grubbing whores with bad dental work, but alas) attending “Ladies Day” at the Royal Ascot at the Ascot Racecourse in England take it to a whole new level…a bizarro world, crazy, strange level, but a new one nonetheless. Check out more photos below. Leave it to the Queen to bring a sense of normalcy to the race with more traditional headgear. Personally we would have gone with a Pac Man Jones motif…something with stray singles and a stripper pole on top, garnished with the paralyzed body of a bouncer, but we’re just classy like that I guess.

The Belmont: A True Test of Endurance

The Belmont is the longest race of the Triple Crown…a true test of endurance. However, for the 2008 Belmont this past weekend, the real endurance test wasn’t on the track…it was in the line for the ladies room on the third-floor grandstand. Low water pressure was to blame:

Inside, the toilets would not flush and only hot water came from sink faucets.

There were also problems in the men’s room, but it was obviously alot easier for guys to find a solution:

The water-pressure troubles made for long lines outside restrooms and portable toilets for much of the afternoon. Some men resorted to relieving themselves in garbage cans, on clubhouse stair landings and in the manicured shrubbery outside the clubhouse.

When you gotta go, you gotta go.

Infield Fun at the Preakness

Not to be out done by their Kentucky bretheren, the “infielders” at the Preakness showed that crabcakes and football aren’t the only things that Maryland does. Maryland also does porta-potty runs, drunken fighting, public nudity, and the occasional event where horses run in a large circle. Behold the epic accounts of the goings on as infielders reach for the thesaurus for words like “madness” and “awesome” to describe the festivities. Good times… asssuming you can avoid the barrage of beer cans and bottles flying by your head, so basically it’s like a Saturday night game in Baton Rouge, but with less crazy.
